“Experience the Exciting and Quirky Lenovo Tech World 2023!”
Motorola, a subsidiary of Lenovo since 2014, unveiled a prototype for an “adaptive display” at Lenovo Tech World ’23. This concept device features a rollable smartphone with a flexible FHD+ pOLED display that can be bent and shaped into different forms according to users’ needs. It can be used as a traditional smartphone when stretched out flat, or bent partway to sit on a desk. Users can even wrap it around their wrist like a smart slap bracelet. The prototype has a 6.9-inch display and runs on a full Android experience, with a compact form of Android available in stand mode on a 4.6-inch section of the display.
While it is exciting to see these futuristic concepts, it is unlikely that this gadget will be available as a consumer product anytime soon. However, Lenovo has a history of pushing boundaries with its consumer products, so there is always a possibility. In addition to the flexible prototype, Motorola also introduced several AI-powered concepts. One of these concepts involves using generative AI to create unique images based on users’ outfits, which can then be transformed into custom wallpapers for their devices. Motorola is also working on a personal voice/text assistant called MotoAI, which runs on a large language model and aims to provide personalized and useful assistance to users.
Overall, Motorola’s showcase at Lenovo Tech World ’23 demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology. While some of these concepts may never become consumer products, they serve as a testament to Motorola’s willingness to explore new ideas and deliver unique experiences to its customers.
