Lenovo Unveils New Flagship Gaming Laptop at IFA 2023
Lenovo has recently introduced its latest gaming laptop, the Lenovo Legion 9i, at IFA 2023. This flagship model is the first 16-inch laptop under the company’s Legion brand. Packed with powerful features, the Legion 9i is equipped with the 13th-gen Intel Core i9 processor and can be configured with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. Users can also choose between a 64GB Overclocked 5600Mhz Dual Channel DDR5 RAM or a 32GB Overclocked 6400Mhz DDR5 Dual Channel RAM.
Highlighting its innovative design, the Legion 9i boasts an integrated liquid-cooling system, a first for a 16-inch laptop. This cooling system is strategically positioned to manage heat under intense gaming sessions, running over the GPU VRAM. Additionally, the laptop features an AI-tuned triple-fan air-cooling system. Lenovo’s LA-2 AI chip synchronizes the RGB strips around the keyboard and other parts of the laptop. The device’s screen utilizes Lenovo’s PureSight 3.2K Mini-LED with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 165Hz variable refresh rate. Storage options include up to a 2TB SSD.
Unlike lower-tier gaming laptops, Lenovo has opted not to release separate Pro and Slim variants for the Legion 9i. According to the company, this model fulfills the purpose of both varieties. The laptop will come pre-installed with Windows 11 and will include a complimentary 3-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It is set to be available in October, with prices starting at $4,399.
In addition to the flagship laptop, Lenovo has also announced the latest version of its Legion Glasses, a wearable virtual monitor. These glasses utilize the company’s micro-OLED display technology and offer full HD resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate for each eye. Compatible with Legion Go and other devices such as Android phones, iPhones, Windows, and Mac computers, the Legion Glasses provide users with a portable, large-screen viewing experience. These glasses will be released next month and will be priced at a minimum of $329.
Furthermore, Lenovo has unveiled the ThinkVision 27-inch 3D monitor, which does not require glasses. The monitor’s 3D Explorer software allows users to access various 3D apps and offers a platform for 3D creation. Additionally, users can switch to 2D mode when 3D is not necessary. The ThinkVision 27 3D Monitor is expected to be available in select markets starting January 2024, with prices starting at $2,999.
