‘It can additionally explore companies’ data to provide rapid insights.’
OpenAI has officially launched ChatGPT Enterprise, a subscription service designed for businesses, following its initial announcement in April. The company assures that its AI models will not be trained on any proprietary business data or conversations under this new plan. In addition, the enterprise features include encryption of business chats during transit and at rest, as well as compliance with SOC 2 regulations. OpenAI has already conducted tests with various companies including Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC, and Zapier.
With ChatGPT Enterprise, users gain two times faster access to GPT-4, which is the same model available in the ChatGPT Pro subscription. However, unlike the Pro tier, there are no usage caps with the Enterprise plan. Additionally, the context size has been expanded to 32,000 tokens, allowing the AI model to process up to four times the input/output text as the $20-per-month Pro tier. The business-focused plan also offers unlimited access to advanced data analysis, now called Code Interpreter, enabling teams to quickly analyze large volumes of data.
The business subscription provides companies with an admin console, allowing for bulk management of employee usage. This includes the ability to create shared chat templates for teams with common workflows. OpenAI also offers free credits for its API, which can be utilized to develop custom chatbots and other AI-generated text tailored to specific business needs. Business customers will have access to an analytics dashboard to gain insights into usage within their organizations.
While OpenAI’s initial focus is on large corporations, the company plans to release a version of ChatGPT Enterprise for smaller businesses in the future. COO Brian Lightcap stated that engaging with robust enterprise customers initially allows OpenAI to better understand the deployment process before expanding availability. Pricing details have not been publicly disclosed, but businesses can reach out to OpenAI to explore options and create a customized plan based on their specific use cases and company size.
