‘Skate Story’ and ‘The Plucky Squire’ may be delayed until 2024.

Publisher Devolver Digital is known for its unconventional marketing strategies in the gaming industry. In line with its unique approach, the company has announced a special event called Devolver Delayed, which it claims to be the “first-ever showcase celebrating games that are courageously moving into 2024.” The event aims to humorously address the prevalent issue of game delays while also pushing back some release dates. The live stream of the event will be available below on August 7th at 11AM ET.

Skate Story | Coming 2023

Devolver Digital has an exciting lineup of games scheduled for release later this year. Among them, Skate Story has already impressed many with its visually striking aesthetics. The Plucky Squire is another game to watch out for, featuring an adorable adventure where players can switch between 2D and 3D environments.

Gunbrella, described as a “gritty noir-punk action-adventure,” is also on Devolver’s release list for 2023. While the publisher confirms that Gunbrella has not faced any delays, it will still be featured in the upcoming showcase. The fate of other titles such as Wizard with a Gun, The Talos Principle 2, and Pepper Grinder, however, remains uncertain. On the other hand, Baby Steps, resembling a 3D version of QWOP with a man-baby as the protagonist, is already scheduled for a 2024 debut.
