‘The Fllow boasts an impressive 150-mile range and introduces swappable battery option’

In 2019, Erik Buell, the founder of Buell Motorcycles, announced the launch of his new electric motorcycle venture, Fuell. As part of this announcement, Buell revealed that Fuell would be developing its first electric motorcycle, the Fuell Fllow. Now, a few years later, Fuell is providing more details about the Fllow and is opening pre-orders.

The Fuell Fllow is a mid-sized motorcycle that offers the capacity of a larger bike, with 10 gallons of total storage and space for a passenger. It boasts a city range of 150 miles on a full charge and utilizes the CCS connector for charging. With a Level 2 charger, it can be fully charged in approximately 30 minutes, while a standard home charger takes between one and a half to two and a half hours. In emergency situations, it can be charged in around eight hours using a standard 110/220V home outlet. Although the bike’s standard CCS connector is widely available in North America, there has been a recent increase in major car brands adopting Tesla’s NACS connector. However, adapters are readily available. The Fllow has a top speed of 85 miles per hour and can reach 0-60MPH in just 3.5 seconds.

Fuell’s main focus with the brand is integrated and interchangeable battery packs. This technology allows for the swapping out and upgrading of components such as the charger, rear wheel motor, and fast charging socket as technology advances in the future. Fuell refers to this as the “battery pack module.”

It is important to note that Fuell is an independent company separate from the Buell Motorcycles brand, despite Erik Buell’s history with Harley-Davidson. Buell Motorcycles was founded in 1983 and ran for ten years before Harley-Davidson acquired 49 percent ownership in 1993, eventually taking full ownership in 2003. In 2009, Harley-Davidson announced the discontinuation of the Buell product line. Although the brand has been resurrected since then, Erik Buell is now solely focused on Fuell.

Harley-Davidson has also been active in the electric motorcycle market. Its LiveWire division unveiled the S2 Del Mar electric bike in early 2023. The S2 Del Mar boasts a range of 110 miles and a 0-60MPH time of 3.1 seconds. While the S2 Del Mar has a faster acceleration, the Fuell Fllow offers a longer range and faster charging. The Fllow places a higher priority on cargo capacity and modularity in its design.

The Fuell Fllow is currently available for pre-order at a price of $9,995, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $12,995.
