‘It also revealed a staggering price tag of $385,000 for the Ronin EV supercar.’
At its Product Vision event in California, Fisker made a series of major announcements regarding its electric vehicle lineup. The company revealed three new EV models, including the Alaska electric pickup, Pear EV, and the Force E. Fisker also provided more details about the highly anticipated Ronin supercar EV. The event showcased the exterior design of the Ronin, but the interior remains undisclosed as CEO Henrik Fisker remains tight-lipped about the technology behind it. Additionally, the price of the Ronin has exceeded its initial estimate by almost double.
The Ronin is expected to be an impressive four-door supercar EV, boasting a 600-mile range and a sub-$200,000 price tag. Fisker claims it will have a top speed of 60 MPH in under 2.0 seconds, thanks to its three electric motors and all-wheel drive setup. The company plans to integrate the battery cells into the structure of the body to achieve the desired range. However, the Ronin won’t be available for delivery until late 2025.
Surprisingly, the price of the Ronin is a shocker, with the starting price now at $385,000 before any incentives, significantly higher than the original estimate. Fisker has launched a reservation page where interested buyers can secure their order with a $2,000 deposit, equivalent to 0.5 percent of the purchase price.
Among the newly announced vehicles, the Alaska electric pickup stands out. Based on the Ocean model, it features a pickup truck bed and a midgate that extends the bed into the cabin, allowing for the transportation of longer cargo. The Alaska starts at $45,400 and is expected to go on sale as early as December 2024. It will have a range of approximately 230 miles, with a more expensive model offering up to 340 miles between charges.
Fisker’s budget offering, the Pear electric crossover, will be priced under $30,000 and come with all-wheel drive, dual motors, and a range of about 300 miles. It will be built on a new platform that reduces the number of parts by 35 percent, resulting in a lower price. The Pear will be available in five- or six-seat layouts and will feature a functional interior design. Production is estimated to start around mid-2025 at Foxconn’s Lordstown plant.
Lastly, Fisker introduced the Force E, an off-road/adventure version of the Ocean. This model features 33-inch off-road tires, 21-inch aluminum wheels, increased ground clearance, and improved off-road handling. It also comes with a large roof rack, wide fenders, and front, rear, and underbody skid plates. The Force E will be available to new buyers and existing Ocean owners who wish to upgrade their vehicles. The release is scheduled for Q1 2024, with pricing details to be announced at a later date.
