‘The developer initially announced its decision to bypass the prior generation game consoles.’
Electronic Arts (EA) has made an unexpected change to its plans for the release of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Initially, the company had announced that the game would only be available on the latest PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X/S consoles, citing the need to leverage the advanced technology of these platforms. However, EA has now reversed its decision and declared that the title will also be launched on the older PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One consoles. The Verge has reported on this recent development.
The decision to expand the game’s availability was influenced by the immense popularity of the iconic Star Wars franchise and the overwhelming demand from the gaming community. EA CEO Andrew Wilson expressed his team’s commitment to delivering this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One players. While Jedi Survivor was released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in April, an official release date for the game on the previous-generation consoles is yet to be confirmed.
Jedi: Survivor serves as a direct sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
