‘She is set to collaborate with iconic rapper Snoop Dogg.’
Activision has announced that Call of Duty Season 5 will introduce Nicki Minaj as the first-ever female celebrity “Operator” playable character. As part of CoD’s “50 Years of Hip Hop Celebration,” Minaj will be featured in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 alongside Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage.
In the past, CoD has featured other celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Kevin Durant, and Snoop Dogg multiple times. However, Minaj holds the distinction of being “Call of Duty’s first-ever self-named female Operator,” according to the developer. They further stated, “Playtime is over; this is not ‘Chill Nicki’; this is Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” referencing Minaj’s track and video released earlier this year.
Minaj’s appearance in Season 5 will include her own storefront, where items for sale, such as the hot pink rifle pictured above, will be available. Last year, her presence was previewed in a YouTube video called Squad Up, featuring Lil Baby, Bukayo Saka, and Pete Davidson. It remains uncertain if these individuals will also make appearances in CoD at some point.
The Season 5 website provides additional information on the 9mm ISO submachine gun, the AN-94 assault rifle, and other weapons. CoD has also offered a sneak peek at multiplayer additions, including new maps for Livestock and Petrov Oil Rig. Furthermore, Warzone 2.0 introduces new locations like Verdansk Stadium. Season 5 will also unveil a preview of the upcoming Call of Duty 2023 (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) within Warzone. Season 05 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone will launch on August 2 at 9 AM PT across all platforms.
